Here’s how:
As you choose your medical and dental options, check off each dependent who is “Covered under another plan” to set up the co-ordination of benefits.

Submitting claims

It’s a bit complicated, but we’ve outlined everything below:

  • Submit your claim online (save your receipts in case you are audited) or by mail to Manulife
  • When your claim is paid, you’ll receive a Statement of Benefit
  • Have your spouse submit the claim with the Statement of Benefit and receipt copies to his or her insurer

  • Have your spouse submit his/her claim to your spouse’s insurer, keeping a copy of the receipts
  • When your spouse’s claim is paid, he or she will receive a Statement of Benefit
  • Submit your spouse’s claim to Manulife and include your spouse’s Statement of Benefit and receipt copies

  • You submit your child’s claim to the plan belonging to the parent whose birthday is earlier in the year. For example, if your birthday is in May and your spouse’s is in August, you would submit your child’s claim to the HP Canada Co. plan first.
